May the First

Happy May Day everyone! The REAL labour day!

Today has also been delcared a day of international solidarity with immigrants. Rumour has it that massive protests against racist immigration laws should be shutting down various US cities even as a I type these words (oooooo... a thrill of anticipation and hope runs up my spine at the very thought...) Let's hope so!

We even had a small march right here in town! Here are some pics from that protest.

I suspect it would have seen much better attendance had we not all had to work. Ah, the glorious and ever-present twist of irony...

Labor's day!!

My father went to a protest (ah my father), here in Mexico things are not like US or Canada, we do disagree the racism against inmigrants. Mexican people protested in a different way, which was not to buy American products as an ANTI-BUSH protest.
But walkin' down my town today, i saw many people eatin' at Mcdonalds and Burger King.. it dissapointed me that situation... I like American people but i hate their goverment. SUPERMAN is also an inmigrant (hahaha).

This 3 days weekend was very boring to me... i had the flu. :(

ps. Thanks for your comment Jenn. I have a lot of free time so i check your blog so often. Also Therese's.

Therese- Yeah! *dances with Therese*

You know... I find anti-immigration policy really ironic since unless you are of aboriginal descent, you come from immigrants too... do you think it could be just a big 'ol "I got here first! MINE!" thing? hmmmmm...

Leon- I know! I read about the protests in Mexico too! Woohooo!

I like that! Superman was an immigrant too... and an illegal one taboot! (I doubt you could get a visa from outer space ;))

I'm sorry to hear that you've been sick. Hope you're feeling better!

I agree, Jenn. It's just a matter of how far back the people in your family immigrated. Really.
